About Divina Delaney

Divina is a CDA licensed social worker with additional training in therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT skills, Play-based interventions, solution focused brief therapy and motivational interviewing. She provides counselling and therapeutic support to children, adolescents and families, drawing on a holistic and evidence-based approach.

Divina began working in mental health in 2014, supporting individuals and families across clinical, educational, and community settings in Ireland, the UK, and the UAE. She previously worked in a CAMHS crisis team in the UK, where she carried out mental health assessments and provided therapeutic interventions to young people and families during periods of emotional crisis.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for children to explore their thoughts, emotions and ongoing challenges. She tailors her work to each child by getting to know their unique self, building trust, and using a range of evidence-based techniques, all with the aim of helping clients express themselves, develop practical coping strategies and learn key therapeutic skills to self-manage in the future.

Her work is informed not only by her professional expertise but also by a deep personal understanding of the challenges children and families can face, which adds empathy and authenticity to her practice.

Divina is particularly passionate about supporting neurodivergent children and their families in ways that celebrate individuality and promote self-understanding. She also specialises in child bereavement, offering sensitive, age-appropriate support to children navigating grief and loss. In addition, she has a strong interest in supporting children and families connected to adoption and fostering, helping them navigate identity, belonging, and emotional adjustment in ways that promote stability and resilience. She works closely with parents to strengthen relationships, build emotional literacy, and co-create practical strategies that foster long-term wellbeing.
